Happy New….Website!

So here it is – the long awaited homemade website for Rosehip Barn! Hooray!!! At the start of 2019 I set myself the challenge of building my own WordPress website for Rosehip Barn and today I am happy to say I achieved my goal.

It’s not perfect, it could do with a SEO polish and there are some pages that I need to develop. However its in a reasonable enough shape to make a 2020 New Year appearance.

I hope you enjoy looking around and find the information helpful and of interest. Constructive feedback is welcome so please let me know if there is anything you particularly like or improvements that could be made. Its the first website I have designed and created using WordPress and this is my first ever blog post – so please be nice!

I never would have attempted it if it wasn’t for a brilliant free short course in WordPress website creation that I undertook earlier in the year led by Siobhan at DPN Cornwall. Thanks go to Siobhan for her expert knowledge and ability to make such subjects fun; and my Mum Sheila who helped on the childcare front in order for me to attend the course.

Anyone who knows me knows that computers are not my thing! It’s taken a lot of perseverance and many late nights. Its been challenging at times but I’ve enjoyed the creative aspects of building my own website and even dabbled with writing some code.

Ultimately I am pleased that I stuck with it, there were times when I felt like giving up and handing the job over to a professional. However in the same way that renovating Rosehip Barn was a labour of love and learning; the website has been much the same.

It’s rewarding to set yourself a goal and with a little help from friends, family and the online community achieve it!

Thank you to everyone who has supported me on the journey thus far – physically, spiritually, technologically, emotionally! Now it’s time to enjoy the New Year celebrations.

Here’s to a new year filled with joy and peace. Enjoy the celebrations and I hope to see you at Rosehip Barn in 2020.
